Taormine Handwoven Scalloped Rattan Pendant Light

A vast bell of rattan cord, woven so finely it becomes almost a gauze, finished with a scalloped edge that ripples all around: the Taormine scalloped rattan pendant light pinches to a point at the top like an oriental canopy.

Lit, the mesh lets light through almost everywhere, so the shade itself glows and becomes a volume of light rather than a screen, while the scallops project a wavy frieze on the walls. Woven by hand over a frame, the rattan cord gives an airy material that never looks heavy, even in the large size.

Two diameters: 40 cm (15.7 in) for a round table or reading corner, 60 cm (23.6 in) as a centerpiece above a dining table, an island or a high-ceilinged entryway. Choose natural for soft, pale fiber, or black to turn the mesh into graphic lace.
