Kalymnos Tall Rattan Cocoon Pendant Light

A long cocoon of tightly woven rattan, swelling at the middle and closed at both ends, capped with a cone of light wood: the Kalymnos cocoon pendant light has a weave so fine it feels almost textile, hinting at the bulb without ever revealing it.

Lit, light passes through the basketry in fine lines and casts a soft, very vertical halo on the walls, while the height of the shade concentrates the beam downward. The fiber keeps the irregular strands and tone variations of rattan worked by hand, and its elongated form brings height where most fiber pendants spread out.

Two sizes: 25 cm (9.8 in) wide by 50 cm (19.7 in) tall above a nightstand, the end of a counter or in a row along an island; 35 cm (13.8 in) wide by 70 cm (27.6 in) tall as a centerpiece in a stairwell, over a long table or in a high-ceilinged living room.
