Sybaris Travertine Hourglass Pendant Light

Two travertine volumes, a flared cup and a fuller dome, meet at their narrowest point within a matte black ring: the Sybaris hourglass pendant light pairs a crisp, almost mechanical joint with the porous, pitted texture of the stone.

Once lit, light escapes through the lower opening of the dome in a clean, concentrated halo, while the black ring catches a soft matte reflection that underlines the join. Small as it is, the piece has a sculptural presence, somewhere between architectural jewel and light source.

At 13.5 cm (5.3 in) across and 15 cm (5.9 in) tall, it suits precise points of light and small spaces: above a nightstand in place of a lamp, or as a pair over a kitchen island.
