Cythère Fabric Sail Pendant Light

A large sail of ecru fabric, stretched then released, held by two fine wires from a single hanging point: the Cythère fabric pendant light does not hang so much as hover, its edge lifting on one side and falling on the other.

Lit from below, the fabric glows and turns translucent at its thinnest edges. The beam never shines directly; it reflects off the sail before descending, for a soft, grazing light without harsh shadows. Each sail is shaped by hand, so the curve of the edge differs from one piece to the next.

Four widths: 40 cm (15.7 in) for a console or reading corner, 60 cm (23.6 in) for a round table, 80 cm (31.5 in) for a full dining table, and 100 cm (39.4 in) for large volumes where it acts as a sculpture as much as a light.
